My work •
As a John S. Knight Journalism Fellow at Stanford University (2024–2025), I explored strategies to deliver high-quality information in the face of misinformation, information deserts, and digital media saturation. I also received training in leadership, design thinking, and how to build strong, high-performing teams with a human, sustainable, and mental health–oriented approach.
During my fellowship at the Reynolds Journalism Institute at the University of Missouri (2023–2024), I created a bilingual guide for journalists seeking to verify information and better serve Latino communities.
I was recognized as Journalist of the Year by the News Literacy Project (2024) and selected by Forbes España as one of the 100 most creative people in business (2022). I have participated in major cross-border investigations that uncovered global corruption networks, such as the Panama Papers (Pulitzer Prize 2017) and FinCEN Files (Pulitzer Finalist 2021), and I’ve led teams that consistently reach excellence, earning awards, grants, and trust from the audiences we serve.
I was Editor-in-Chief of Factchequeado.com (2022–2024), a collaborative initiative to counter disinformation targeting the Latino community in the U.S., and I led elDetector at Univision Noticias (2020–2022), the first Spanish-language fact-checking platform of its kind in the U.S. (on both digital and TV).
In Venezuela, I led investigative teams that uncovered crimes, corruption, and human rights violations under strict censorship. That work was recognized with the Gabo Award (2014) and a Special Citation from the Maria Moors Cabot Prize (Columbia University, 2014), among other honors.
